The end of one of the two beautiful commodes by Ince & Mayhew to be auctioned on 13th February 2026 by Christie's Ribbons, husk swags and a classical urn. What more could you ask for to be convinced this is a commode from the Ince & Mayhew workshop? The two commodes are Lot 503 in the Irene Roosevelt Aitken: Library, Bedrooms and Objects of Vertu auction to be held at Christie's New York on 13th February. Estimate is USD 400,000 to USD 600,000. A pair of cabinets on stands to display Italian reverse-painted glass, The Northwick Park Cabinets, sold in October 2023 for USD 151,000, so it will be interesting to see how these do. |
