Letters written by Frederick Ince 1826-1836

Letter 28 Feb 1826Letter 1
Nigel Ince, the great great great grandson of Frederick Ince, has in his possession thirteen documents that relate to Frederick, all but one of which were written by him in America between 1st March 1826 and 29 September 1836.  There are eleven letters amongst the documents, and they reveal a wealth of information about Frederick’s life, about life for an early settler in Virginia and general family news and updates.  It is a sad story, greatly influenced by the expectations of different generations that they would eventually receive a good amount of money from the estate of William Ince, Cabinet-maker.
